ART ENRICHMENT THERAPY CLASSES FOR VETS

Our mission is to contribute to the healing process of our military men and women veterans. We shall offer, at no cost, Art Enrichment Therapy Classes. The Art Enrichment Therapy Classes will add quality to their life both physically and psychologically

Sadly, a large increases in depressions and suicides have and are incurring with Veterans returning from overseas deployments.

They struggle daily with their extensive physical and emotional problems.

Neurological studies confirm that creating art improves cognitive functions by producing strong electrical messages to the neuron cells that cause the brain to reshape, adapt, reconstruct and create new modalities.

Traditional methods of treating post-traumatic stress include psychological assessment and/or medications; however, ART THERAPY has increasingly become a recognized remedy for military Veterans coping with PTSD and other issues.  

Our Art Enrichment Therapy Classes help to process traumatic events in a healthy way. It can be used to explore feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, reduce anxiety, depressions and build selfesteem. It also acts as an outlet of communication when words fail, and provides a place to socialize with others who have experienced similar situations.

The cost is free to Veterans who participate in the program. All supplies shall be included. We will offer a choice of two different types of art therapy classes (Sculpturing or Drawing/Painting). Class sessions will be held over a 6-week period; three times per week.  (1 hr. sessions). The maximum number of people per class will be 10; so proper attention can be given to each Vet. The classes shall be taught by Edward Colarik in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.

Edward Colarik, a seasoned, well known award winning artist, spanning over 20 years. He taught classes at UCLA for 4 years.  Developed and taught Art Therapy classes to seniors. He owned and operated a fine art gallery for 5 years in Dallas. Edward is passionate about the need to support our Injured Veterans. Below are 3 related art examples that Edward created.

Your sponsorship is needed to set in motion and continue this worthy endeavor. You can contribute in several different forms: Funding (Most Needed), Providing Space, Advertising (Bill Boards, Radio-TV Ads, Magazines, Brochures, Flyers, Etc.), PR, Events, Etc. A Sponsor shall receive a plaque honoring their contributions.

When a donor contributes, they can select art from the collection set up according to the size of the donation- i.e. ($50- $100- $200- $500, etc. etc.). The greater the size donation; the greater the value of the fine art they shall receive. The donations amount starts at $50. Thus, not only will donor’s donations help but also allow the Vets to continue with their Art Therapy program.

In addition, when a donor selects art created by a Vet. The Vet will receive 50% of the proceeds which will further enrich their self-worth.
