Ted Peters' art rediscovered; renewed awareness.

 Ted Peters, whose paintings and drawings are being collected increasingly in the last few years, has been rediscovered as an American chronicler. .  Collectors are being rewarded with a new appreciation of his historical paintings, and his figure and nude drawings. At first glance his military art appears to be confined to battle scenes but on further review the paintings reveal events that often-changed history or are in contrast with generally held views.

  A collector who holds an extension collection of Peters' oil paintings and drawings states that Peters paints subtle nuances that captures the event but also celebrates the style of painting from that era.

Ted Peters has been a visual artist for over 20 years.  As a painter, sculptor, designer, and concept creator, his life has been fully realized in works he has enjoyed bringing to completion. Born in the Mid-West part of America. He comes from a creative family where his mother was a painter and designer. His father is also creative but more in the form of original machine tool designs.  

Peters paints in the style and manner that was used during the era of the subject matter. His America Civil War paintings often use a naive style commonly fond before and after the Civil War era paintings.  His Napoleonic pieces are more in the French style. His Zulu paintings reflect the English view. His Vietnam work exhibits the action, beauty, and sadness of the conflict.

Peters has received accolades and awards in 11 countries.  His art reflects his American perspective and a lifetime interest in the visual expression of human conflict. Ted feels war tests us at the very core of our humanity.  It shapes our freedoms, our available options, our quality of life, and most of all, our survival.

Peters has visited much of the world. Studying everywhere he goes the different cultures of the world. He has a driving desire to understand the human condition.  Often his approach to reality is to paint scenes of life and death under the most extreme circumstances. He feels it essential to recreate the feeling of what it is like for soldiers under fire, battles at their turning point, or acts of bravery.
